OneSchoolRoom
My students and I are in one school room connecting to other school rooms of the past, present and the future. If you wish to connect with us, please send an email to campbell_tanya@surreyschools.caMy name is Ms Campbell, and I am a Core French teacher at Bothwell Elementary and Mary Jane Shannon Elementary.
In 2012, I launched this website with a simple goal: to serve as a place for storing YouTube videos. Back then, it was a modest website designed to help me easily organize and access my favourite videos. Little did I know that this humble beginning would mark the start of a remarkable journey.
As the years went by, my professional growth and evolving needs significantly shaped the website’s trajectory. Particularly, during the 2020 and 2021, when the world faced the challenges of remote teaching and learning due to the global pandemic, the website took on a new role.
My website reflects my commitment to learning, teaching, and embracing change. It serves as a reminder that growth is a continuous process, and the digital realm offers endless possibilities. It is also a place I can share what we are doing in our classroom.
TEACHERS: If you enjoy my work, please buy me a coffee by clicking on the donate button. It will help cover the costs of hosting a website.
I acknowledge with gratitude and respect that I have the privilege of working on the unceded ancestral territory of the Coast Salish peoples, the qʼʷa:n̓ƛʼən̓ (Kwantlen), q̓ic̓əy̓ (Katzie), and sɛmiˈɑːmuː (Semiahmoo) who have cared for this land for thousands of years, and who continue to care for this land. As an educator, I am committed to actions aimed at healing the broken relationship between settlers and Indigenous peoples.
Click here a starting point for a territorial acknowledgement for the classroom:
- Je voudrais reconnaître que notre école, où nous travaillons, jouons et apprenons, se trouve sur les territoires traditionnels des Nations Katzie, Kwantlen, Semiahmoo, et Qayqayt.
- I would like to acknowledge that our schools, where we work, play and learn, is on the shared traditional territory of the Katzie, Kwantlen, Semiahmoo and Qayqayt First Nations.
