Float Your Boat
Students will design and build a boat to hold as many coins as possible.
Students will learn how to code using Hour of Code: Sea Creature Sequences

- First Assignment
- Watch Types of Boats: 23 Different Types of Boats and Boats and Shops Vocabulary
- Choose a type of boat from this image: 53 Types of Boats and Ships Illustrated to Scale
- On a piece of white paper, draw/print and colour your boat/ship.
- Remember to write the type of ship/boat at the top of the paper.
- Write in full sentences, 3 to 5 facts about your boat/ship.
- Write the FULL website address where you found your information.
- Second Assignment
- Create a boat out of tin foil.
- Sketch the boat on this paper.
- Put the boat in the water.
- Count how many coins you can put in your boat before it sinks.
- Record the number.
- Think about what you would do differently and write those thoughts on your paper.
- Repeat.
